33rd Annual Stellar Awards

The 33rd Annual Stellar Awards ceremony was held on March 24, 2018, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The show will be televised by American digital cable and satellite television network BET on April 19, 2019. Musician Kirk Franklin hosted the award ceremony.

The ceremony recognized the best gospel music recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year.

Snoop Dogg made his debut at the 2018 Stellar Awards to perform “Words Are Few.”Performing on a dimly lit stage under a spotlight, Snoop performed solo before he was accompanied by the song’s guest B-Slade, who appears a few times on the album.

During the awards ceremony, gospel duo Mary Mary (sisters Erica and Tina Campbell) reunited for the first time in more than six years. The Stellar Awards also included performances from Tori Kelly, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Kierra Sheard, J.J Hairston, Travis Greene and more.

The night was a major one for several artists, including J.J Hairston, who swept up six awards. Tasha Cobbs walked away with four as well as “Made a Way” singer Travis, who earned an award for producer of the year, male vocalist of the year, contemporary male vocalist of the year, and artist of the year.

The Stellar Awards will premiere on TV One on Friday at 9 p.m. ET, and rerun Easter Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
