LABOR DAY WEEKEND

LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Sep 05 , 2018

Labor Day weekend in Atlanta gets bigger and better every year; as people from all over fill the city to enjoy the amazing festivities. This year was no different, with a ton of events happening all over the city, including LudaDay Weekend, Pride, Taste of Soul Atlanta Food & Music Festival, and a host of concerts and parties.  I kicked the weekend off on Saturday at Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre for the Brian McKnight and Lyfe Jennings concert.  They both put on amazing performances, performing some of their hit singles like, “Love of My Life,” and “S.E.X.”  It was a packed house, and Lyfe Jennings surprisingly left me speechless with his energectic stage presence and raspy vocals.  He left fans standing on their feet, as he ended the show with one of his biggest R&B hits, “Must Be Nice.”

The weekend continued, as I made my way to Morehouse Forbes Arena for the LudaDay Celebrity basketball game. So many celebrities was in attendance, as they watched #TeamJamieFoxx beat #TeamLuda.  It was definitely a close game, going into overtime twice.  The gym was packed, as everyone cheered in celebration for a good cause.  After the game, I enjoyed an evening with Jeffrey Osborne and Peabo Bryson. Listen, I have an old soul and live for old school music. I grew up listening to my dad play their music in the car on the way to school.  He played it so much that I felt like I grew up in that era. Jeffrey Osborne shocked the crowd when he came from the back of the audience singing and dancing.  It was such a great feeling to know that good music still exist.

This weekend was by far one of my favorites.  I gained a deeper appreciation for what I do; being able to cover an array of events and report it back to you.  Stay tuned for even more, as I continue to cover some of the hottest events all over the world (Had to put that out in the universe). Until next time…..
