LOVE & MARRIAGE HUNTSVILLE
Jan 22 , 2019
I had the pleasure of attending a press luncheon at the Gathering Spot for the new unscripted series Love & Marriage: Huntsville. The series follows the lives of three successful African American couples in the thriving city of Huntsville, Alabama, who come together to help revitalize the region through their joint real estate venture- The Comeback Group.
In the eight-episode first season, the couples, Melody and Martell Holt, Marsau and LaTisha Scott, and Maurice Scott and Kimmi Grant, are longtime friends who are vying to put their city on the map, but must navigate through the realities of dealing with love and marriage while attempting to focus on making this huge undertaking a success.
During the press luncheon, you can tell the ladies have been friends for some time. They weren’t artificial and really answered the questions with integrity and truth. Melody Holt, an ex teacher turned entrepreneur spoke briefly about the challenges she face being an African American female, in a male dominating industry. LaTisha Scott, spoke about the backlash she received for being a stay at home mom and a submissive wife. Kimmi Grant, the newly wed and Residential Relator was very vocal on the importance of hard work and staying true to who she was. All of the ladies offer something new and fresh to the reality world, and you can catch more of them on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, every Saturday at 10/9C.
